Product Description

Tilt Control
The Tilt Control kit consists of a small PCB (1.4in by 2.8in), a stereo, shorting, five-position rotary switch, eight capacitors and sixteen resistors. It is a passive design, which entails a -3dB insertion losses and whose center frequency is 500Hz and its nominal input impedance is 100k. The center position results in a flat frequency response, but is down -3dB. As the control twists clockwise, the highs go up by +1.5dB per click and the lows go down by -1.5dB per click. Conversely, as the control twists counterclockwise, the lows go up by +1.5dB per click and the highs go down by -1.5dB per click.

Since the Tilt Control is passive, it does not require a power supply. But also since it is passive, it assumes that the signal source presents a low impedance and that its output sees a very high input impedance. This does not seem to be that big an assumption, but it can prove to be. Be sure to read the Tube CAD Journal article on the Tilt Control.

Kit includes user guide and the PCB, rotary switch, and all the polypropylene capacitors (8) and 1% metal-film resistors (16).
